Beckenhauer Construction Receives “Nebraska’s Safest Companies” Award

Beckenhauer Construction Receives “Nebraska’s Safest Companies” Award

April, 2019

The Celebration of Safety is an annual event hosted by the National Safety Council, Nebraska to recognize companies and individuals who don’t take shortcuts with their safety. At this year’s 36th annual event, Beckenhauer Construction was recognized as one of “Nebraska’s Safest Companies.” The Nebraska’s Safest Companies Award was established to celebrate those with commendable safety programs throughout the state.

Beckenhauer Construction has an exemplary safety record that is better than national average compared to their industry classification and has implemented comprehensive safety programs.  “Winning a Nebraska’s Safest Company Award clearly illustrates a company’s commitment to safety. We are proud to recognize their achievements in providing safe work environments ensuring that their team members return home safely to their families at the end of each work day,” said Eric Koeppe, President/CEO, National Safety Council, Nebraska.

In 2017, 57% of all fatal occupational injuries in Nebraska were due to transportation incidents. At the event, national distracted driving advocates, Jacy Good and her husband Steve Johnson, gave an emotional keynote speech to attendees. After a 2008 crash that left Jacy partially paralyzed and took the lives of both of her parents, the husband and wife duo began using their story to educate the country about the dangers of cell phone use behind the wheel. It’s an epidemic that shatters thousands of lives every year. Their message to “Hang Up and Drive” hit home for many in attendance.

The annual Community Safety Award winners were also recognized:

“OPPD Service to Community Safety Award” to United Support and Memorial for Workplace Fatalities
“Lorraine Giles School Safety Award” to Joni & Dr. Mark Adler, Ralston Public Schools and Dr. Jim Sutfin, Millard Public Schools
“Safety Council Public Servant Award” to Douglas County 911
